Black tea as a symbol of love & care

22nd October 2025

Dear precious angel,

Can you imagine it? In a world that has offered the rose as love’s emblem for centuries, could anyone ever dare to place a humble cup of black tea on that same altar? I bet you not. Black tea is ordinary. Everyday. It steams in kitchens across Turkey, Dubai, Nepal, and countless lands I have yet to name. So how, then, could something so simple become the epitome of love and care? Perhaps this question never arises—unless you have loved someone so deeply, so tenderly, that no sacred thing in this world could frighten you anymore.

Unlike the rose, black tea need not be handed to your beloved in a grand gesture. You only need to whisper the recipe into her ears. And if she follows your instructions—if she brews it exactly as you taught her—then the symbol has served its purpose. Love has passed from your hands into hers, not through petals, but through steam. And here is what makes it even more precious: I have chosen black tea not only for love, but for care. You are not merely expressing your heart. You are guarding her health. You are saying, I want you to live well. I want you to be strong.

The recipe is simple: Boil a little more than a cup of water. Add tea leaves, then ginger and cardamom—but grind them first, crush their souls open, so they release their fullest song into the water. Let them boil together for a while. Then remove it from the flame. Stir in honey. And there it is: medicinal black tea, ready to warm the one you love. If is it taken every night before sleep and every morning at dawn, immunity will rise. The cold will never come close.

Your gem,

Vivek Prasad
